Sam Ushiro is the latter kind.

When Sally Hansen partnered with Bustle to launch a new line of bold nail colors, they didn't want a product spot. They wanted proof that color is a worldview. All Ages produced a three-part documentary series profiling extraordinary women whose creative lives made that argument visually — women whose environments, aesthetics, and work were so distinctly their own that the camera simply had to follow.

For Sam, the DIY lifestyle creator behind Aww Sam, that meant letting her world do the talking: her space, her palette, her obsessive eye for detail functioning as both subject and set. The nails weren't a feature. They were a natural extension of everything already in frame.
